San Antonio

I had a fantastic time in San Antonio!

I have more favorite restaurants in SA than any other city and I got to eat in a lot of them this trip. There was also a new one called Coco, very trendy, but very comfortable and reasonbly affordable.

Sue wanted something more meal like and ordered a flat bread pizza. I had enough at lunch, so I went for a total dessert thing. There is a previous post that I did from the phone of my Chocolate Martini and I also had the signature chocolate dessert. Afterwards, Sue looked at me and said, "Darryl, you are chocolate high!" and I was. It was the best chocolate experience that I have ever had. Add one more to my San Antonio favorites list!

Sue and I drove up into the hill country on Sunday and I took these pics:

This is a little Lutheran church up in the hill country from 1897 and it's significance to me has nothing to do with religion. The last time I had been to this place, I was with Sue and Bill and I have to say I felt a great deal of emotion. I was walking in a place where Bill and I walked together and looking in the windows that we looked into together. So many memories came flooding back. I wonder if Sue noticed? She probably did as she made a point of finding the place. Memories of love in Crabapple, TX...

I went up to Austin on Friday and visited our stores there. It was an inspiring experience and a good one, as I start a new project on Tuesday, opening a new store here in Vegas. I had dinner at the most amazing TexMex place in the country; Trudy's. It was fabulous!!!

The rest of the time in San Antonio was filled with eating at my favorite places, visiting the McNay Art Museum, getting my hair done by my favorite hair man, Danny (and hanging out at his fabu house on Saturday afternoon) and getting to spend time with my adopted nephew, Ryan, who is doing very well these days. His girlfriend, Kim is a total wonderful person and it was so good to see both of them.

I came back and worked like a dog for the last four days at my old store and now, I am "between jobs" for a grand total of two days. I begin the new project on Tuesday.

And I am sooooo ready!

I really enjoyed SA when I was there a few years ago in the summer. What are the winters like?

The winters are like most of southern Texas or New Orleans. Lovley fall weather followed by some wet and cold, but not too wet and not too cold.Bright fluffy cloud days, one after another.

Not bad at all.
