Ah, shite, the holidays are over!
I must admit that it was all a bit much for me.
I was definately down for a while and it took me some time to figure out why. Right about Christmas time, I was feeling rather low, energy-wise. I was always tired and somewhat depressed. I worked hard through the season and made record sales, but it didn't make me feel great as it usually does.
I thought, perhaps, that it was because this was the first "holiday season" that I wasn't either in Boston with my brother's family or in New Orleans with my other family. That probably had something to do with it, but it was more than that...
Two days after Christmas, I woke in the middle of the night with a fever and the three bumps on my left side which were burning hot. They had been a bit of a bother before, but I didn't think much of them at the time, but they had become intense. Finally, it dawned on me; I had a case of shingles.
This had happened only once before in my life and it wasn't all that much, but itdoes do a lot to the immune system. It was definately why I was so tired all of the time and why I took no joy from my daily existence.
Knowing what was the problem helped a lot and I knew what the time for recovery would be. I am just getting back to normal now.
NORMAL; what is that?
It's all about getting used to where I am. I am thinking of getting a cat.
That will help, I think. It's not going to be a kitten this time, prolly an older cat from the shelter. In New Orleans, you would just adopt one off of the street, but there are few loose cats out here in the desert. From what I have seen, there are plenty of adoptable cats from the very good animal shelters here. I am going to look into it.
Bye Bye BlackBerry...
My BlackBerry phone is two years old and I found myself saying, "There's nothing wrong with this phone... why should I change?" I've never had a cell phone device for more than six months and although this one has been great, I am sure that something might happen soon and it would crap out. So.....
...I've gone from this...

...to this... a Nokia E62.

It was a cheap upgrade... and so far, lovely!
In a few weeks, I will be flying to Orlando to join my family for a few days together. It's the first time in over two years that we have all been together at the same time.
