I've always been a big fan of "The Band". the group that backed Bob Dylan originally. "Music From Big Pink" was their their first album as a group separate from Dylan, although he is reputed to be involved with some of it. I remember it at the time as being totally different from everything else and it totally was. Most of you will be familiar with the "Wheels On Fire" song that was used for the AbFab series; the song was from Big Pink.

Like I said, I've always been a big fan, but I had forgotten about the Big Pink album. I had been listening to the stuff from their last album more, stuff like "Look Out Cleveland". "Music From Big Pink" is a landmark performance from a band that only did landmark performances. It's unique and fabulous rock music from a band that deserves the name "The Band".
