Heeey! Mardi Gras!!!
Zilla got in around one PM yesterday, Sunday, and after a little time getting him settled in, we headed to the Quarter. We met George along the way, and ran into lots of other people as well. We spent the afternoon touring the bars and viewing the mens and boys, of which there were plenty.
Around seven, we went down to Canal Street to watch the Bacchus Parade. Robert found us a great spot! The parade was fabulous and we caught tons of beads. We saw Sean Astin and Elijah Wood, but the pics turned out lousy... the parade was over three hours long...
After the parade, we headed back into the Quarter for more party, party! We finally caught a cab around 4 AM and went home to eat some chili. Turned in about five.
It's around two in the afternoon now, and I feel like someone beat me with a baseball bat! We probably walked ten miles yesterday and we were on our feet most of the day. We gathered on the front steps for coffee, but everyone is still moving kind of slow.
We'll head into the Quarter around noon tomorrow for Mardi Gras day. I have to be somewhat smart about the partying tommorrow; I've got an important job interview on Wednesday. It's a phone interview at least...
